Gobble gobble!

Even after gobbling up all the yummy Thanksgiving food last week, we were pleasantly surprised to find that we still lost 10 pounds this month. We now weigh a combined 379lbs. :-) Go Warby Warriors!!

Nice to know!

Sorry... we've been pretty busy lately and haven't gotten our totals. I know that I've stayed the same (glad to hear I'm not the only one)...but I keep forgetting to ask Brit how he's doing. I think he's still around the same though too. He's adjusting to graveyard shift and hasn't figured out a good time to hit the gym yet. I can't say we'll do better this month or the next (though we'll surely try)....but definitely in January - we're gonna start losing tons!! ;o)

I agree on the extension!

Hey! I was really worried about our weight this month, and was certain that we would be dead last! I am so glad that the rest of you had a rough time as well. Our combined weight this month is 432. That means we gained about 6 pounds. Yuck! Now that Garrett is back, watch out! We are unstopable together!!

We vote for an extension!

It is our opinion that it is too hard to lose weight during a cruise and during holidays! We vote that our contest runs till July.
You will all be surprised, though, that even with a cruise and halloween, Dad lost 3 pounds! He is just too busy to eat. I stayed the same.
We need not get discouraged, but keep on trying!

Shocking!

Apparently when you are too busy with life to go to the gym for 37 consecutive days, you don't really lose weight (or gain muscle in Darrin's case).  I won't post our measurements this month since I'm pretty sure no one cares.  As far as weight goes though, here're our stats!

Darrin:  166.5 (he actually gained two pounds from our last weigh-in)
Aliese: 158.0 ( I stayed exactly the same)

Are we posting this month?

I heard a rumor... or maybe I started it.... that we are not posting our weight this month. Just look at our number last month. It hasn't changed an ounce. Our plan this month is to actually GO to the gym. Our positive thinking power theory didn't work as well as we had hoped it would. Good luck everyone!!!

Burn Baby Burn!!

Our total weight loss for the month of September is a whopping 21lbs. Our original weight was 410lbs. and we now weigh 389lbs. Yay!!! It's working! Just WEIGHT until the play is over and we can start exercising again. :-p

We did better than we thought!

Garrett sent me his weight this morning. We now weigh 426.5 combined (still a gross amount). We lost 15.9 pounds. I thought I knew how to figure that into a percent, but it turns out I am math stupid. Does anyone know how to do that math? We started at 442.4 pounds. 10% would be 44.2 . . . so we are probably like 3 1/2 percent body weight lost. Anyway . . . yay us for losing weight!!!

The Grand Total Lost...

Boy...that month went fast!!! How can we be expected to lose weight, when the month only lasts a minute?! Our beginning total weight was 350 lbs. Our grand total lost...4 lbs., for a total weight of 346. We are thinking maybe we should start exercising. (ya think?) If you have any good low fat recipies, we could sure use them!

I agree with Nina, this is so hard to write for you all to see! However, the fact that you all know is a huge motivator for me!!

Garrett & I weigh a combined total of 442.4 lbs. Our scale is digital, so it weighs to the ounce!

I am having a hard time getting started on my diet (I'm doing Weight Watchers again). Garrett left yesterday, and I want to emotionally eat. Send good thougths my way (weigh - ha ha)!!

Okay...so this is way hard to post! As of today - our combined total weight is 448 lbs! AH! Together we hope to lose a little over 100 pounds. Woah! It will probably take more than 6 months to do that...but it's our ultimate goal! Good luck to everyone!

I had another idea

Hey, what if we post our before "fatty" pictures on the blog too! I was going to take one just so that I could see the big difference after I win!!! I am taking my measurements too, but have no intention of posting them. Then at the end, we can post our after "skinny" pictures. The difference will be so noticeable!

Here's a workout tip . . . exercise at 70% of your MHR (maximum heart rate) for at least 20 steady minutes to burn more fat! To figure your MHR, take 220 and subtract your age. Then multiply that by 70%. Anything over 82% is anaerobic, and burns glucose more than fat! Fitness experts recomend building an aerobic base by working out in this range for at least 12 weeks. It's all about working smarter, not harder!!!!

We think a Biggest Loser Blog site is a great idea! We love the idea of posting our combined weights on this site the 1st of every month. There will be more motive if we know everyone in the family is keeping tabs on our progress! Know one will know the weight of any one person, since it is the total of each couple. If anyone does not want their progress to be monitered by everyone, just send it to our email.

Starting Sept 1st

I know we all got the email... about sending our combined weights to mom and all the details. But I thought it might be fun to create a blog about this to help motivate us more!! I just learned how to have everyone be able to be a part of the posting - not just commenting. So, you should have an email about it soon! Then you can all post whenever and comment whenever - and change whatever you want on the blog! Unless everyone has a problem with listing their combined weight each month for everyone else to see - I thought we could just come here the first of every month and "weigh in." If this isn't something you're all willing to do - then let me know and I'll go ahead and delete the blog (no big deal)!! :o) We can also use this blog to post healthy meal ideas or fun exercise ideas - stuff like that - things we've found helpful!
